Back home from Philly

I have recently returned from my travels to philadelphia. I had a great time. Saw and tattooed many old friends and made some new ones. The convention was a success and I got to do some rad pieces on some rad folks. I got to hang with my lady in the city and then tattoed my face off for the next 6 days. Here are some of the pieces I got to work on.

I'll start with the cuteness and end with the bad ass...

This tattoo is adorable. It's a griffin reading a book to a baby griffin. This was done on a really good old friend of mine. The last time I tattooed this girl was 10 years back, Oh how times have changed.

At the convention I tattooed a portrait of of this adorable kitty. It's almost lifesize. She was a trooper. The gal who got the tattoo, not the kitty.

Lately I love doing color portraits and I also have a special place in my heart for ladies who are always dressed in latex. So When I got the opportunity to do this portrait of lady GaGa, I was stoked. This was such a fun piece to do. I can't wait to get a healed photo of this. Lady GaGa is a little red and angry in this photo. But you get the idea.

This is an awesome start to something epic. A friend of mine already has a pretty epic viking sleeve from me, and we just started on the other arm. This will be a sleeve based on the William Blake poem "A Memorable Fancy". When this sleeve is finished I think it'll beat his other arm and may become my most epic sleeve yet. Here's the poem.

I was in a Printing house in Hell & saw the method in which knowledge is transmitted from generation to generation.
In the first chamber was a Dragon-Man, clearing away the rubbish from a cave's mouth; within, a number of Dragons were hollowing the cave.
In the second chamber was a Viper folding round the rock & the cave, and others adorning it with gold silver and precious stones.
In the third chamber was an Eagle with wings and feathers of air: he caused the inside of the cave to be infinite, around were numbers of Eagle like men, who built palaces in the immense cliffs.
In the fourth chamber were Lions of flaming fire raging around & melting the metals into living fluids.
In the fifth chamber were Unnam'd forms, which cast the metals into the expanse.
There they were reciev'd by Men who occupied the sixth chamber, and took the forms of books & were arranged in libraries.

This piece was done by a collector who's body was covered with some amazing work by some really respected artists. He had some impressive work from Jon Clue, Don McDonald, and Grimey. I was honored to add to his collection. He sat for about 8 hours on the inner thigh and just let me do my thing and didn't even blink. Tough dude. He and his wife were also a pleasure to chill with.

Philly was great. But as always it's good to be home.

A few convention pieces

I've been traveling a lot for conventions. The last convention I attended was Northern Ink Exposure in Toronto. I had a blast. Met some rad people and did some really fun pieces. Toronto was a beautiful city and a lot of fun. Here are a few pictures.

This skull was a drawing i had done a while back but never tattooed, it was perfect cover up a name, sadly I forgot to take a picture before the cover up, ah well.
